Exodus Sermon Series
Our 12-Week Series
The book of Exodus, a word meaning “departure” or “going out,” was written by Moses (Ex. 24:4, 24:7, 34:27; Mark 7:10, 12:19; John 5:45-47; Rom. 10:5) around 1440-1400 BC. In God’s timing, the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt marked the end of a period of oppression for Abraham’s descendants (see Gen. 15:13) and the beginning of the fulfillment of the covenant promise of God to Abraham that his descendants would not only live in the Promised Land but also multiply and become a great nation (see Gen. 12:1-3, 7).
Over the 12 weeks of this series we will look at the first 15 chapters of Exodus, a section that begins with cries of slavery and ends with a song of deliverance whereby we learn much about God.
